This is a 4/50 radiator with screw top. This radiator like all the early 4/50s, 6/80s and Rileys from Nuffield has a steel core.

Paul Sinclair working on my 1950 MS YSJ 346, note the small brass expansion tank fitted to the N/S side of the engine bay-carb side-right of pic. This small tank came with the car, I was later informed by Mr Handley that it was not original equipment, and also not necessary as the S1 radiator has an internal pressure valve.
